Not sure if this is the right place so if it's not I apologize.

I bought an OBD2/USB cable for Power-Tripp and I was wondering... Can that same cable be used to connect to a car? If so, does anyone know of any, preferably free, software for reading error codes suing that cable?

Cheers

I use a free app called "Torque" on my cell phone which does a bunch of stuff including reading and/or resetting error codes. It will even link to the internet to tell you what the code means. It needs an inexpensive OBDII bluetooth thingy. I have used it on many vehicles quite successfully.
