  1. Happy New Year....

... to all past, present and future Rocket owners.... and to you all others (my local time is 00:47 already ) Ol' Jamie :bch:
  2. Roadster Pipes

Hi! In response to a member's request, I had mentioned Dave Platt's cans. Dave can be contacted (on my behalf, if you wish) on: daveplatt.dp@googlemail.com Best. Jamie
  3. How many times can one say good-bye?

"La 'Bird" is up for sale, 28 months after her showroom exit. The "feet forward" posture it commands has become an undeniable contributor to my on-going back problems (and I am reportedly "pushing" 64!). I was about to part with it, family pressure unanimously helping, and sadly join the ranks...
  4. Forth and back

Best wishes to all Rocket III pioneers, quitters and other transgressors included. Ol'Jamie:cool:
  5. Old-bie request

Persistent and terribly disturbing rattling coming from the engine upper l/h side. Increasing and decreasing alongside with rpm's. But definitely increasing with engine temp. The 2007 bike has over 30'000 miles on it... and a new distribution chain/tension pad dealer-fitted a couple of weeks/300...
  6. looking for an afatermarket chopped rear fender (mudguard)

Needs to be LEAN. Could be made out of steel, aluminium or even plastic (CF not affordable). Also preferably Rocket-specific, bolt-on and NOT parts exchange (my bud wants to save his original fender). Could someone refer me to a reliable source ? Thanks. Jamie
  7. T'Bird Café Racer

Bits and pieces, including rearward-mounted footpegs, now available from Raask !!! RAASK:S MOTOR AB Jamie
  8. Just bought one

After 5 years and a half on my Rocket (sold last August) and 5 weeks and a half with my 1700cc V-Max (wrecked last September), I have just placed a firm oder for a blue 'n white 2010 T'Bird. With the 1700cc kit installed up-front, TOR cans, so-called "performance" air sponge (altogether good for...
  9. Toystoretom?

Been a while both here and since you and I last exchanged e:mail notes about my n/a tuning mishaps. Let's read from you, please:). Aye. Jamie
  10. 1700cc T'Bird

A limited edition T'Bird with the factory-installed 1700c "kit" was announced at the recent Milano show, as an add'l model. It's featured in the last issue of the French bi-monthly Moto-Revue. Price premium over the std model is around 15%, which comes darn close to the cost of the kit + dealer...
  11. Radiator Fan...

.... keeps on turning, long after the engine has been shut off:eek:. Watched the thing go on regardless for over 15 minutes. By then, the engine was almost cold. Only way to stop it is to disconnect the battery. This is happening to a friend's Rocket, every time the engine is switched off. Any...
  12. The Annual Farce

I refer to HD's 2010 poduct line announcement, Five "new models", goodness me, on the official HD website. Made up of three CVO financial extorsions, a blacked-out Fatso, a previously embalmed Wide Glide and.. a trike. On a financial site, a company spokesman, as complacent as all his...
  13. Scale Models For Triple Lovers

Two additions to the Minichamps catalogue: The 1000cc Laverda Jota and the Craig Vetter-styled 750cc Triumph X75 Hurricane . The current Rocket III remains on the catalogue, BTW. Jamie
  14. A poll for the week-end?

Say, like me, you have been a so-called Rocket "Captain" for several years now, you have lodged tens of thousands of miles on your mount, you have learnt from --and perhaps contributed to-- pages of dedicated forums like this one, you have probably spent a small fortune on mods or accessories...
  15. Raask Cans

Raask, a pioneer in Rocket mods, are launching pipes for the Touring. See them on RAASK:S MOTOR AB Needless to say, I have no interest whatsoever in the company. Best. Jamie:cool:
  16. New V-Max: Test Ride Report

Have been fortunate enough to have one on loan to me this pm. It had only ten miles on it. I lodged another 60 miles on it, one third each in city traffic, on the motorway and on one of my favorite mountain roads nearby. Pros: - Fantastic engine, both torque and power-wise. This thing flies...
  17. Removing the Secondary Plates (Butterflies)

Hi, Mine were removed by the dealer. Back then, I did not even bother to figure out how he did it. A buddy of mine, apparently a capable wrench, now would like to do it all by himself. Any "how to" step-by-step advice (or ref to an OLD post) I could share with him?. Thanks:). Jamie
  18. State Inspection/Front Discs

Just had to take the Green Machine to the Swiss technical inspection which is compulsory here after 4 to 4 1/2 years of ownership. I had just fitted new tyres on it, given it a thorough wash and temporarily re-installed the std mufflers, hoping to go through without any fuss. The inspector...
  19. First Ride of the New Year

Was silly or courageous enough to take my green machine out of the garage earlier today. Temp just barely above freezing point. One of the coldest winters in years, here. Plenty of ploughed snow left on road sides. Only a few (fortunately) and glistening (ditto) icy spots showing on the...
  20. A Word of Appreciation...

... is IMO due to our moderators, Pig9r/Brian and Toystroretom/Tomo, and to our Webmaster/Shawn for having kept R3Owners informative and friendly throughout 2008. Well done! "Old Guard" Jamie :bch:
