Would really like pillion grab handles for an R3T

I put this on for Lori, curved backrest offered enough support to offset lateral deflection and uneasiness of pillion during corning and acceleration. It didn't allow clearance for the beetle bag lids to open however.

Yeah, I looked at those long and hard, and may still go that route. I actually tried to order several times, and they kept saying "they're coming, they'll be here" -- and nothing. I gave up and settled on the Givi 55 instead . . . and still would like the grab handles, or that wrap-around backrest adapted to the Givi.

Thanks, Glen.

Mutazu is slow getting products to market, and slow sending out orders. I reckon there's a single guy in the Japanese countryside doing these one at a time and sending them out strapped to donkey, to deliver to the closest post office. If you've go time to wait, it's said the stuff is good, but boy is it slow!

Data point:

I emailed Matuza requesting a Fire Red Pearl DMY box.

They emailed back the next day, "We don't have that sir."

I called them. "When are you going to get it ?" "We don't know."

"When was the last time you had it ?" [pause - recording] "About three and a half years ago."

"Hmmm, let me think on that, and I'll call you back."

I looked on their web site again, and saw the Black Cherry Pearl - sort of ok on a mostly black bike with red accent.

I called them back, and they said they had it, asked for my email, and emailed an invoice. I paid it.

Yesterday passed with no response.

This morning, I emailed them asking if they acknowledge orders.

I received an email back with the tracking number.

So I would say, on one data point, if they have it, they will send it right away.

If they don't have it, don't hold your breath.

Products received . . . NO support of any kind.

There are no instructions -- I ordered the wrap-around back rest -- that didn't need any instructions as existing backrest with six bolts came off and the new one went right back in its place.

I also ordered the LED lip. No indication of which wires are which, and no template of where to drill the holes. The GIVI kit came with little clips to run the lighting wires across the lid of the trunk on the inside, and exit in one or the other corner. Nothing here. I also ordered the rack. Again, no template -- on my own.

I emailed them back asking about all this, and they said, "Sorry, we have no technicians here. If you need help, we recommend professional installation service."

Harley makes tour packs in different sizes Paul. I never liked the look of the slim ones but they are there.

I looked at those, and it greatly increased the complexity, as the Rocket Touring rack has no support underneath and they made it short.

The GIVI E55 fits fine, and they thought of everything except having a real passenger on pillion who needs more support than a 4" square pad that hits her in the back over every bump. What were those people thinking ?

The Corbin is truly priced, as they have figured out the geometry and fabricated a truss that bolts on it the right places, and oh are they dear.

The 64 dollar TMS trunk I bought has done OK so far. SWMBO and I did a two day trip and I used the trunk for sweatshirts, vacuum sealed Frogg Toggs (cuts down the bulk considerably), and other things we might need sooner rather than later, or maybe never.

The rack on the R3T is small like you said, but I used a piece of 3/16" aluminum as the base for the trunk and some thinner aluminum on the inside. It is very solid, or at least I have been told so. I don't know how the hinges will hold out on this trunk, but I can buy a lot of 64 dollar trunks for what I would pay for a Corbin.

Here is the thread that I posted about it.

Finally got the 64 dollar trunk mounted.

SWMBO is new to the motorcycle riding arena and is still somewhat nervous but she said the trunk felt better to her than the sissybar and pad. Probably because of the tiny bit of wrap around.
