I have mounted Mutazu hard bags and want to know where to find the connections on the bike to hook up a harness. Is there a terminal strip on the bike or do I have to splice into the wires to the rear lights?

Good question

I spoke Gus @ Baxters and he said to tie into the wires under the right side cover, don't cut the wires under the fender where dirt and junk will likely foul your connections. I hope to get mine hooked up this weekend.

I got the MU bags, what did you go with?

I put a modulator for the tail lights so they had multiple functions including running lights, and I found there is only one way to work it from under the skirt; tie into it. Or, under the right side panel: go into the multi-wire connector extending from the tail section. I'd recommend making up a simple wiring harness to the right hand side cover rather than tying in and slicing under the skirt (mud guard). It's a fender in my book It's a lot easier to work at the side panel.

Although you can make full use of the retainers under the skirt to route your wires to the right side panel As a matter of fact, I routed the wiring off the right panel connector to the Back-Off regulators to an under the seat position. Tying in two small, stick match box size, modulator devices takes more room than is available under the right panel. One of the match box size devices isn't necessary right now but it enables LED tail lights when I go that route. I've no idea whether you'll run the lights on the bags in whatever manner is possible. If they are in fact LEDs and you wish to run them in multiple modes you may have to go with some like the Back-Off Signal Dynamics offerings from Custom Dynamics site.

I've very impressed with the same manufacturer's offerings! I would have already been there if the gummit's demand for taxes weren't looming. And the LB03 from Custom Dynamices are quite the attention getter.

Thanks guys

I have the MU bags and the DB trunk. The trunk has LED's in the spoiler for the brake lights. I'm not sure about the turn signal lamps, but the MU bags use incandecent bulbs. Is the modulator necessary?
