Where to jack?

I have a jack similar to the Sears/HF jacks and with my old bike was able to place it under the frame but on the R3 the bottom of the engine (sump I guess) is the lowest part. That said, where do I put the jack to lift the bike without damage?

there was a discussion on this a couple of years ago. I am not sure what anyone came up with other than the two holes at the bottom where the frame bolts together. I just took mine in to get tires and had to let the guy know to look out for that problem . Someone was going to build something to go on a small lift to fit the holes and allow the bike to be lifted from the frame but I got out of touch for a while and lost the thread.

If you have the Habor Freight style mc jack you can jack on the engine sump but will need to tie front end down Do a search and you will find several threads on jack pins to balance bike on jack.

This is how I lift my 05 Rocket. You place the rear support on the frame brackets i.e. the ones with the holes in them. I also place a 1/8 inch thick aluminum bar across the rear support in order to allow room for the rear oil drain bolt, you will see what I mean when you set things up. When everything is set up right, the lift is not perfectly perpendicular to the biike but at a very slight angle. This has worked great for 6 years. Still, I am always relieved when I get the tire on and can lower the bike. It makes me nervous to see the beast high on a cheap HF lift, but they do the job.

Correct, no tiedowns.......not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hellfire 05s that was stock mine had it also I knew something was missing from the 08 boy one more thing they cheaped out on from the first ones

No, that that was there when I bought the bike. I thought all rockets had a water pump hose Slinky.
