Whats wrong with idiots ?

So clearly it's totally the drivers error in the OP vid.

If the rider were in gear he looked to have plenty of time to squirt out of the way to the right. Clearly his mind went to a different decision, but I'm not sure this HAD to happen.

I had one even more stupid about 2 weeks ago, difference been the vehicle in front of me was a tray top , he decided he didn't want to be in the left lane but in the right turn lane, so he decided to put his Ute in reverse and back he went. He would have reversed I to me if I hadn't had my horn blasting at him, what makes him worse was I was in my Nissan Xtrail, he didn't see me???

Well. with some cautious deference for the shocked and awed driver of that vehicle, it is possible that the bike was in her blind (in both eyes) spot and that the surprising crunch she heard caused her to instinctively drive away from what she thought was the source of said crunchiness and that, inadvertently, put her in a position to finish the job - let's all it the recrunching.

Panic coupled with surprise or sheer ignorance can be a real mind bender!!! Good thing no one was mangled as a result.

You two be safe and enjoy some happy trails together, brother Jim!

Agreed. He had time to move if he was in gear and thinking.

I asked my wife this last Sunday after we got back from a ride, I said sweetie while we are riding do you ever get scared? She said not from you, but the idiots in the cars around us scare the **** out of me.

It made me sad to hear that, :(
My wife has said the same thing. But the rider in this video had time to react. Not sure where his head was at. It is extremely important to be aware of all the idiots on the road. I always assume that no one sees me. And ride accordingly.
