I'm planning on visiting friends in Auckland around Christmas. World's Fastest Indian is my favorite movie of all time. I hope to get the chance to visit Invercargill but it is a loooong way from Auckland. Thinking about maybe a private plane trip? Maybe we can meet-up if it comes to pass.
laraza, you might want to reach out to Joker via PM. He is our resident scouse and it was he who turned me on to my CT. I believe that Paul and a whole cadre of his mates are running car tires with no issues, insurance wise. That is a non-issue here in the US.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to push the CT choice on you, but I do believe that it is a meritorious option and one well worth looking in to!

I just don't like the 'feel'. Locked 'em up once (never done that with any other tyres, may just be coincidence) and had a couple of slides that have just left me with that 'try something else' feeling

Hi, a great chance to hire a bike and ride down?? a fantastic trip will put the jug on and fill the fridge up, can provide some good old southern hospitality for you hope to hear back.

Been through three rears and two front Metzelers in 24K miles on my 2005. I decided to try the Avons. Just installed AV-72 rear and AV–71 front. They are really nice and smooth. I would highly recommend them. The bike just glides through the curves. As luck would have it a car pulled out in front of me and I hit the rear brake too hard. The Avon really kicked out the same as the Metz. I was hoping the Avons would do better. They look like they have a little less void area (more rubber on the road).
