While doing what should have been a simple oil change, my first for this bike, I took out all three drain plugs and realized one wasn't a drain plug. Oil flowed fine but the actual plug was back a little more. I replaced it and took the right one out. It was located in line with kickstand. I haven't filled with oil as of yet and have not cranked it over. My question is, what did I remove and did I do harm?

You are lucky. I did the same but a little green guy came out and went for a swim in the oil. He was one arrogant little #astard. He just kept on laughing and flipping me off. When I started to place the plug back in realizing my mistake he tried to bite me. I did manger to grab the little guy and stick him back in the hole and plugged it but will never make that mistake again. No harm done.
