Been thinking about all the people who say that they ride ATGATT. I generally consider myself SOMEWHAT in this category, but honestly, I'm usually ATG Most OTT. Below is a list of the categories I consider ATG, and examples, some good, some obviously not so good.

Here's what I usually wear:
Helmet - Full Face Bell Star w/ transitions(self darkening) visor
Occasionally (more so w/ the warm weather) Fly Racing, German Style DOT 1/2 helmet
Eye Protection - see Bell Star face shield above OR Ballistic Lens glasses (tinted-day, clear-night).
Gloves - Full finger leather gloves w/ knuckle armor. Same but Gauntlet length in winter.
Jacket - Triumph leather jacket w/ armor, every once in awhile - Long sleeve high neck riding jersey.
Pants - Jeans w/ leather pants overtop OR just regular jeans (I know, I know).
Footwear - Composite, safety toe leather boots (to be fair, I wear these same boots all day anyway).

What do you wear:
(and by no means is this list all inclusive)

ATGATT

Helmet:
Full Face
¾
½ or skid lid (DOT certified)
NON-DOT skid lid or sans brain bucket

Eye Protection:
Helmet integrated face shield
Safety/ballistic lens glasses (clear-night tinted-day)
Good quality sun glasses
Dollar Store specials
Let the wind rattle my eyeballs loose / Nothing

Gloves:
Full fingered leather gloves (preferably with knuckle protection or other armor).
Fingerless gloves
Bare knuckled

Jacket/upper body:
Leather jacket
Armored mesh or textile jacket
Long sleeve heavy shirt
T-shirt or wife beater

Pants/lower body:
Leather Pants
Kevlar or similarly armored pants/jeans
Leather Chaps
Regular denim jeans
Shorts

Footwear:
Heavy motorcycle or composite toe (steel toes get way too cold in winter) full coverage boots
Motorcycle specific riding shoes
Regular old sneakers/tennis shoes
Flip flops

All the time no matter what:

Helmet/Eye Protection: Full Face with appropriate shield (clear or dark depending on ambient light) all the time.

Gloves: Full finger gloves (no armor) Solid or perforated depending on temp. Weight dependent on ambient temp

Optional (sort of)

Jacket: Triumph Explorer Series, Triumph Leather Perf Raptor Jacket, Textile Mesh or nothing, depending on ambient temp. Often layer a sweat shirt below jacket if cold enough but will be warming up.

Pants: Jeans or 5.11 pants with overpants, leather chaps or nothing over jeans depending on weather and ambient temp.

Footwear: Crocs ;) Actually Insulated hunting boots, desert military boots or regular ole tennis shoes depending on ambient temp and type of ride. Going to work is tennis shoes, real rides will be boots.

Bottom line is helmet and gloves all the time. Other gear is dependent on type of ride and weather.

I'm an adult and accept the risks of riding without wearing all of the protective gear that is available.

Always use Full face helmet (DOT and Snell), leather gloves ( insulated winter, regular leather summer), minimum jeans but most often leather pants, Jacket leather fall, winter, spring, and Racing, textile mesh summer (hot). Most often riding boots but quick jaunts to the store tennis shoes.

I have...
multiple helmets - Shoei RF-1200 and Scorpion Exo-AT950
multiple jackets - Spidi Multitech Armor Evo, KTM Balistic Nylon winter jacket(needs replaced)
multiple gloves - Spidi, Sedici, Alpinestars, Shark... all armored, most leather, some vented some non vented one thermal insulated
multiple boots - Alpinestars SMX 6 v2 Vented, Sidi Fast Rain boots

I wear a helmet 90% of the time.

The remainder depends on what bike I am on, my likelihood of being a hooligan, and the weather.

The one constant is jeans.

I wear full face helmet all times. Leather reinforced jacket, leather gloves and boots. I rarely wear protective pants anymore just jeans.
