Ran into a bloke I know from Darwin in Bunbury the other night. He had this neat , small , black and white number plate on his Dyna ( very similar to the one you can get for $500 legally) anyone had any experience or know if you get booked for running one of these counterfeit plates. Ol mate reckons he's had 6 warning but no ticket yet. He's a FIFO so probably don't ride all that often I'm guessing.

how small is small? From memory the standard size is around 250mm wide and the 'small' size is just under 200mm wide.

i haven't seen the type you've mentioned but I have seen plenty of standard plates bent at either end and wrapped around the fender - mostly on HD's, those bad bad boys.

Be 180-200mm wide I guess .. was pretty small. Missing the WA , just had the numbers , I assume were from his legal plate .. offered to tee me up a couple when I transfer my rego. Think i'll give'em a whirl and see how I go .. ***ced if I'm paying $500 each for the small legal ones.

I've seen those little tiny ones people put on bicycle racks on the back of cars because the rack covers the number plate. Wonder if you'd get away with one of those - tell them the plate was obstructed by your garage door. ;)

Got me buggered why we have to pay $500+ for the bike and the same for a car but there's only one plate on the bike???

$120 for a personalised number plate up in the Territory .. every man and his dogs got one .. some ripper plates up there.

Dope is there's a loophole .. blokes that purchase the really expensive personalised plates have been allowed to have Perspex copies made .. to avoid theft. Cops therefore turn a bit of a blind eye to dodgy plates as long as they are 'around' the same size as the legal 5 digit plates .. don't you just ***cing love loopholes
