After having this bike in all sorts of weather, I still get a bit annoyed that the hard bags on this bike are NOT waterproof. It rained hard Saturday night, and my R3T was sitting in the parking lot like all the other bikes....getting soaked.

Again, after heavy rain, I find the inside of the bags wet. Gear all damp.
Why ? They seal well enough, but still let in the rain.
Not happy about it.

Mine have not leaked at all and I've been in a few HEAVY downpours. Mine lids fit snug. I can't just push in the center to get the latches to catch. I have to make sure I put pressure over the latch points. Otherwise, one or the other won't catch.

I've only owned my R3T for 17 months. And since I live in Arizona, it hasn't seen any rain yet. Maybe this winter.....

That's another thing with the latches. The right side bag is a pain to open. Push real hard and it will eventually open. I've had the dealer 'check' them, no error on their part. Must be just me. I've been meaning to open up the mechanism and see if I can adjust them somehow.

Havent had any leaks in my bags. I've been in a few light showers, one bad down pour, and I clean my bike with a pressure washer from time to time.

I did have a problem getting it to latch shut when I first got it, but that's not an issue any more, just have to press down in just the right spot.

If it's leaking as bad as you say, I'd take it to the dealership and complain. The bags should not leak under normal circumstances.

I had the same problem. My dealer adjusted the latch and now no problems.

My R3T hard bags have been 100 percent in serious rain:)

I haven't had any trouble with my bags leaking at all. I live near the coast and it rains almost everyday. My bike sits at the office a lot in a downpour and nothing as long as I close them. 80 mph on the interstate, pouring rain, no leaks.

mine and stb bags does not leak and we have been in some very heavy rain
but i do have a problem bout getting my left saddle bag open the easiest way i have found is to use my knee to push in the side then open it
