For me, I like the Triumph windscreen with the lowers just fine. I've been in monsoons with it and thye only thing that gets wet is my chin......and the beard soaks that up.

What I would question is the proprietary coating on the Clearview, if any. I wonder how abrasion resistant it is.

.....except when you're riding 500 to 800 miles in a day. That gets old pretty quick.....
 
We've had a Clearview on my wife's Trophy for about a year now and it's been great! That vent thing works really well. So far.. let's see, I/we have put about 3500 miles on it over the past year, not alot, since I'm always on the Rocket, but the windshield has been subjected to all kinds of weather and, so far, it cleans up really nice! Very happy with it.

I too ride with just my fly screen most of the time. Will probably leave it on for the ES trip as well. I wear a full face helmet, or 3/4 with flip down shield with it though. I've been hit with some 30.06 size grass hoppers at 70 MPH, so I like to atleast keep a shield in front of my face!.. lol

I have to say, I was surprised at how well the OEM works on my R3T. In light to medium rain, I stay almost completely dry. Monsoons are a different story. I've been in two in the month I've had my Rocket and got soaked to the bone both times. Well, I would've had I not had my rubbers on. :D

My only gripe with the OEM windshield is the chrome cross bar is so low that I can't attach a windshield bag because there's not enough clearance between the bars and shield. It's kind of a pain because that's a convenient place to keep things like a garage door opener.
 
Strange thing Aerodynamics

I have the tall Clearview with the vent and run it during the winter months. It will be coming out for the 1200 mile RAA3 trip. I seldom use the vent but is does provide pretty good air flow if needed. I always noticed allot of buffering with the standard stock Triumph windshield no matter how I set the angle. I am 6'4" so I am sure the height had some impact. With the tall Clearview you can read the Sunday morning paper while rolling down the interstate with one little exception I have noticed. I always have a pair of drug store glasses around my neck on a string holder. (I have gotten so **** far sighted I can't even wiz without the things. Issued equipment may also come into play with that scenario also.) With the Clearview, the glasses blow around on the holder like crazy, but I don't notice any wind buffering at all. I can ride all day without eye protection. I usually end up sticking the glasses inside my jacket or shirt. I run the Triumph fly screen during the summer and the specs don't blow around at all, but very little wind is deflected otherwise. Go Figure. I think I may go with the lower deflectors this winter to compliment the Clearview, that may solve this little inconvenience.
 
Go to www.clearviewshield.com and go to the Triumph section, it is pretty straight forward about the different options available. Just understand that they are not whistling Dixie when they say "approximately" 5-6 weeks to manufacture and deliver it.
