I have no power in my garage and no way of running a lead thru my estate.

So I have purchased a ring power pack so that I can jump start my bike if left too long over winter  .

This works fine but I am planning on popping out during half term and I though if I connect to my optimate the battery might be in a better condition.

I have previously drained a powerpack by trying this overnight and wonder if anyone can work out a period of time that I might be able to advise me using the tech info copied here

12v, 40ah professional PowerPack with 300w inverter, 40ah lead acid battery for professional use jump starting, 300w inverter provides 240v AC mains power, extra long detachable cables, 12v DC auxiliary power outlet, integral worklamp, polarity protection

Battery Size 40ah
Nominal Voltage 12
Peak (amps) 800
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) 400

or even here.... http://www.ringautomotive.co.uk/product ... ?prod=1592

Other wise I suppose I could take it for a long ride ( not sure how good batttery will be after 4 years of this misuse)

Thanks

Paul

like it.

I would suppose that there would be no problems with any systems due to disconnecting/ reconnecting battery?

Shouldn't be. Probably wouldn't hurt to 12-minute tune it after you reconnect.

Rocket original batteries are crap even more so in the winter. If you have an alarm that seems to drain the battery even faster.I would keep the power pack indoors and take it to the bike when you need to start it.

Or maybe invest in an Odyssey battery, bit pricey but they have real good performance.
