I know there's a couple of these floating around but I thought I'd throw one up there as well. I had some questions still so maybe others do too. I thought it was a great idea to add a phone charger but knew using the one from Triumph would not work for the US chargers.

Here's what I bought off of ebay:

Came with the housing, USB adapter, a fused positive lead and a negative lead (both with eyelets to connect directly to the battery)

I understood from others there was a plug behind the left side cover but some had a hard time identifying it. On mine, it was the connector with the blue tape on it.

All I did was remove the leads with came with the kit, created some new leads with spades terminals on the end, connected it to the positive and negative on the back of the adapter (as marked) the the positive into the purple side of the connector and the negative to the black wire on the connector.

Doing it this way it is already using a 10 AMP fuse on the bike. No cutting, splicing or running wires anywhere. Before anyone says anything, yes I'm going to clean everything up and make sure it's water tight. Just wanted the group to know, it's really very easy to add one. I suppose you could mount the charger anywhere you want, just know this is an easy way to get power to it.

Hope this helps!

i did mine a while back wired it up with a fuse everything worked went and sat down and then it dawned on me dummy there was a connector right there.:banghead:
i have days like that sometimes.

Nice work there.
I have kept my stock charger under the left side seat and added this for phone etc. charging under the seat.
Forgive the mess as I have all the wiring apart adding a couple pins for use of a new Stebel with my PDM60.

I installed the Triumph power socket then bought an adapter for it that had a USB port for charging. I figured I would only need it for my cell phone in a pinch.

I also added the Triumph Power Outlet and purchased an adapter from Bike MAster for $8.00.

I find it very interesting ALL the small feature differences between the Touring and Roadster.
