update

wendy went and got my bike from the shop today got bout half way home and toke it back cause it wasnt running right they could not find anything wrong so she started home again and it started lunging so she toke it to the house in madisonville and when i got home from work we went and got it and brought it to niota and it still jerks got home and changed the fuel filter and did not help so my thinking is ether the fuel pump going out or maybe the tbs any help would be apprciated before it goes back to the shop tuesday

Agreed. I had exactly this they installed the wrong tune and it ran like a bag of nuts.

they did not change tune
reckon if they cant figure it out i may do like someone else did and trade it for a hardley

Better put back about $8k if you plan to get a 103 ci.

A friend of ours has been in his engine twice in 24k miles.

The same thing happened to me when i was coming back from Sturgis. i stopped in Indiana gased up with bio-fuel Ethanol..?? i got a little ways down the highway and it started. I asked one of the locals where to get ethonal free gas. He said the local BP has it, that's where all the high performance cars gas up. The hard part was sucking out five + gallons on the road. I ended up in back of the BP station filling up anything that would hold gas... It probably is the fuel pump,but i've been reading where that E85 Ethanol has been causing problems with engines not made to run on flex fuels.

The Ethanol is no joke. I have had my weedeater and leaf blower in the shop because the ethanol dries out the plastic tubes in the gas tank and makes them leak. The small engine guy said Ethanol was the best thing his business has seen in years. Guaranteed repairs from using it.

Funny how the same things happen to so many of us. I had the identical thing happen to me.

My issue was compounded by the fact that the guy who stuffed it up did a few things that I didn't ask him to, 1 of which was a different tune.

I then took it to my local triumph dealer and they stuffed it up even more by doing a custom tune.

Turns out it was the TPS (throttle position sensor) and even though it was replaced it was not setup properly.

If you are running anything on the bike which is not stock chances are your triumph dealer will fk it up as they can only tune it with preset programmes that aren't ideal for different airflow systems.

Basically, the tune has to be right for the setup and the TPS adjustment must reflect this as well.

I had Neville Lush in Aus sought my issues out and within 20 minutes he had my bike running PERFECTLY where the other 2 guys in Melbourne cost me $2,500, 4 visits and 3 weeks of road in total to get nearly right.

If your bike seams to have developed a bit of a flat spot, is hesitating and almost cutting out on part throttle and backfiring on decel, chances are it is the same problem.

I too was so disheartened I was ready to trade my bike but once it was running right I almost felt stupid for thinking about getting rid of it.

I don't know the technical reason why as I am not a mechanics arse but I do know that the tune and TPS need to be right then the bike will be perfect. The only other thing I know a few people had issues with, me included is, after a service the mechanics can be a little heavy handed under our tanks and the vacuum hoses only need a tiny move for them not to seal correctly. lift your tank and any air or vacuum hoses just push it down so it seals really well. I have 1 hoses that was almost un-perceptively moved but i was able to push it in about 1/2 a mm and low and behold it fixed an issue I had a while ago.

don't give up. its worth it when you get it running right. just don't trust your dealer to do things right and you'll be fine.

Sounds like there is a job market for Triumph Mechanics. As bad as most are, all you would have to do is advertise and anyone within 200 miles will jump at the chance to have their bike run right everytime after maintenance. I'm starting to think I have just as much of a chance at repairing my own bike as the dealer does except I have to PAY him to mess it up.

Checked hoses and clean terminals on coil that did not help changed fuel filter Saturday evening no change going back into shop tommorrow morning hope they get it right before I have to leave for MV Friday morning
