UNI Underseat Air Filter

I have also been looking at the Ramair and found the lack of updates on any performance gains strange.
I have the Prototype - the original "designer" sold his R3.

From day one - ramair said they would NOT do comparative marketing - they would leave that to others. Fact is they already had a reputation and are used by AMG and Aston Martin for custom filters - so we were lucky to have them take interest. ITG said it was too difficult to fit under the stock claw.

The Ramair offers other advantages - namely ease of maintenance and that unlike the triple K&N's the air temp sensor sits inside the filter in air flow. The maintenance factor alone justifies ditching the tubing under the tank. The ramairs are ime quieter than the K&N's.

But there is only one real way to find out - test. Whatever you do - get the brute Dyno tuned.

However unlike idk I did notice a difference moving to the single undertank. Moving to the RAMAIR was more noticeable.
I remember way back someone dyno'd a Rocket with stock and then with an undertank filter and picked up about 5 hp with better throttle response.

Barbagris, Have you talked to a car dyno operator to test your brute ?
There is another R3 owner in Madrid who says he has an "in" to a car Dyno. The Spanish have a tendency to overestimate the value of "friendship" - though it is apparently at his brother in law's garage. Strapping it down seems to be their concern (liability wise) - as and when he says we have access then we'll see. There are one or two Bike Dynos near me but all say they're only rated to 120hp.

It seems like my 2012 R3R has some built in intake thing as part of the underside of the seat.

I noticed it when I took it off and replaced it with a bracket and Corbin double seat that the top of the filter enclosure would be open somewhat; compared to the original seat.

Been driving it that way for over a year with no apparent problems, and the dealer didn't say anything about it when they did my first service.

I hadn't thought about it until reading this thread, and hope I'm not messing anything up running it that way.

the underseat snorkle only restricts airflow you are better of with out it and All Rockets come with it and should be the first thing taken off even if you wanted to run a Std Air Box and filter

I have also been looking at the Ramair and found the lack of updates on any performance gains strange. It would also be a cool idea for somebody to make a "glovebox" kit to replace the stock air filter box...one that had a solid front and a top cover. I know that many have used the stock box for this but the open front could let in water/dirt.
Hey Jeff.....are you considering installing the Ramair filters?

I covered the hole in mine with a piece of thin plastic cut from an anti freeze jug.
It makes a great pie box!

1olbull....are you using the Ramair?
I found a great youtube video on the install of the Ramair on a Rocket 3 Roadster and it looked oaks pretty strieght forward. I was surprised at the end of the install in that all you have to do is let the bike run for about 25 minuets, one cycle of the cooling fan in order to set up the system....no map needed?
