Tuning Anomalies using TuneECU and wideband

Dyno scheduled for Saturday possibly, regular tech had a baby today and is out on vacation.

I have three tunes built at this point to test a few different scenarios with ignition timing and mixture ratios. The newest "3rd" tune is the one I am most interested in the results on, I am trying something a little different with timing on it.

That book basically says were both right btw Idaho lol.

Hmm, it might have been, hard to check at 80 mph I don't know, it was a cast manifold with some serious weight to it and the valve faces and piston tops were ceramic coated so more heat probably went out the back than on a normal car.

I do know it spooled the turbo like woah!

Well, I have my final "stock bike" tune finished, I'll be removing my Wideband and storing it away now so I can remount my phone/gps where the logger was

I wasn't able to get to the Dyno, but that's another post involving piss poor quality control at Triumph and a assembly tech that decided to "just slap a bunch o silicone on it and it'll work" when installing my exhaust manifold gaskets, which led to a leak I had to correct yesterday :/

I am going to attach a datalog, captured after the manifold gasket was re-sealed, of a short 2nd gear WOT section of this map where I hit the limiter, it's a good sample because it also shows accel enrichment at work. If you look the accel is functional all during the rolling open of throttle and ends as soon as TPS hits a static position of full open. After accel enrichment is over, AFRs stabilized right at 12.2 +/- 0.1, and then fall to right at 12 above 6000 RPM (I've removed 1% fuel above 6000 in the attached tune to correct that).

Cruise AFR right around 14:1, part throttle acceleration moves around in the 13s mostly, with a few light load spots landing in the 14s. Will get power numbers this week, but she seems quite happy with this installed.


PS: VSS - is in KPH not MPH. This is 2.5 seconds from 51 MPH to 80 MPH.

Your last tune states O2 off but it is checked...

I may have forgotten to change the notes in the file. I turned it on in the tune so people don't leave there sensor plugged in and burn it out by using a tune with it disabled.

I figure if people know enough to Uninstal the sensor they will know enough to unchecked the box.

@Claviger I loaded your tune after I added 5% to the F tables, due to my straight through exhaust and 3 K&N filters.
The reason I tried your tune is that after I changed to the 3K&N setup I experienced high idle.
I was running @Speedy tunes after @HansO tunes. Both their tunes worked great but I would have high idle either right away or after bike warms up.

So to eliminate any other issues like vacuum leak etc, since I pulled all the emissions crap as well. And to make sure that I don't need to look at anything else that might cause it, I went with your modified stock tune.
The bike runs great through the gears and will lift in 1st on a roll on. Monday on my way to work on the on ramp after toll I laid in on her and when I shifted into 2nd the front came up unexpected, before I would have to intentionally try to do it.

I will hook up my Inovate O2 to see where I am at. I am highly recommending this tune as a base to start with or to set it and forget it on a stock bike.

@Claviger: Nicely done! Confirmation of what I had found. Also, points out that a lot of dyno tunes in use make great full throttle power but are no better or worse than stock at cruise and mid-throttle.

I have resolved the high idle by going back to stock tune and then with @Claviger tune, just to rule out anything else when I tore into all the crap from emissions and my new filters.
His tune +5% through out the fueling range runs really good and shows good afr numbers in any gear and throttle position. Also on mine I noticed 5 vacuum pickups cyl1 has 1, cyl2 has 2 and cyl3 has 2. I capped of the extra ones that were used by the emissions crap.
