TRIUMPH WINS THE DAYTONA 200

Gang..... How long have each of you been supporting the Triumph line???????

This is OUR win...... This is OUR team...... Bask in the glory. KEEP IT UP TRIUMPH!
Showing my age now, like a lot of Aussies my first Triumph was a 1968 Ex police Triumph 650 Saint frame stamped TR6P a single carb model I bought it from Burling and Simmons motorcycles at Auburn in 1969 from memory for around $690 ,ripped off the screen and panniers put on a 2nd hand set of Dunstall decibel mufflers and instant boy racer at 21 years old a recipe for disaster ,considering I traded in a 650 Matchless twin that my father passed down to me but I thought I was ready for something "more Modern" the saint went better but I have to say was not as reliable as the Matcho, I kept the saint until I bought a !985 Harley 1340 Superglide 2 that still resides (retired)in my shed, but I never got over being a Triumph fan but waited until Triumph made a really Big bike to come back home!

Payed $800.00 dollars for a 1969 TR6 Trophy in late 1978 I was 15 rode it everywhere down home Grevillea, Woodenbong, Urbenville, Bonalbo, Wiangarie, Kyogle even tried my luck into Casino once all with no licence had it until I got my learners permit at 16 and 9 months. I put $350.00 dollars with it and got a 1972 TR6 Tiger that I rode until I was 18 and on my open licence. That's when the power of a Kawasaki 1000 took over. But I still to this day love them old 4 speed 650's I'll own one again one day.

I see from the schedule that the Triumph sponsored race is in Birmingham and thats not a far ride for me. May have to go take it in.

1970something 650 Tiger when I was 16 years and 10 months old as well. String of 650 and 750 Triumphs followed .. like others until I bought a brand spanking new ......................................... BMW R80GS ;)
