I was at the Gatornationals today. An NHRA sponsored drag race event. I saw a lot of fast cars and motorcycles. There was only one class of motor cycles: Pro Stock. They were pretty ****ed fast.

This got me to wondering. Are there race teams that use Triumph Motorcycles? In any form of racing? They were not represented in this class of racing, today.
Forgive my ignorance.

There were a couple of guys from over seas there racing today. One from Australia and one from Denmark. A long ways from home.

Thats a good question I've never heard of any teams using Triumph at the drags. Some interesting facts on the NHRA rules in pro stock inline 4 cylinder motors are limited to 100 cubic inches while V Twins are allowed to be 160 C.I. in Top Fuel the 4 cylinders are still limited to 100 but V Twin are allowed up to 200 C.I. if you remember back about 20yrs Harley had there own specific class at the drags reason being they could not get anywhere close to the speeds or times of the 4cylinder bikes. Anyone know who paid off the regulation guys? I know some hardcore HD guys who refuse to believe this .

There was an Aussie, Jay Upton who was dragging a triumph here up until about a year or so ago but nothing could catch him so he made a switch to a Honda and started developing it, have not heard how he going these days, not really into Drags much sorry
