Triumph 2018 New Model Reveal Party

I'm old now and will be still older by 2019. If I wait till 2020 I'm not sure I'll even be able to ride. If they declaw it, I'll keep what I have. Besides, the wife says no more bikes, could be some memory loss for her by then and I could still pull it off.

I think we should anticipate it will be Euro 5 compliant - why would anyone launch non compliant bike one year before Euro 5 regulation becomes obligatory. And I agree with the rest - there is a chance it will be an beast.. with no balls.

Like the '89 era Mustangs, Firebirds, Camaros and Corvettes? Had 5.0l turbo Firebird that couldn't hold a candle to my non emission controlled v6 Cortina

Was speaking to a mate of mine over crimbo who is head Triumph technician at the South West of England's largest Triumph dealership . He told me he has heard nothing about a Rocket 're release . It was a niche market to begin with and sales from the rest of the Triumph range far exceeded that of the R3 . Any new Rocket released would have to be so stifled to remain compliant , that the market would not sustain it . In a nutshell , he said don't hold yer breath !

In all honesty, I'm quite content with my '07 "upgraded" standard. Thanks predominantly to some exceedingly poor work performed abysmally by two lousy dealerships and then, secondarily, to some well known Hinckley factory engineering and manufacturing flaws, she's had most of her problems ironed out - the hard way ($$$).

Thanks to Bob Carpenter's diligence, his workshop's competence and its owner's proper maintenance, my motor is about as bulletproof as one could hope for.

The only thing that I feel is lacking on my Mulberry Mistress is ABS, which would add an additional margin for safety and, perhaps, a slightly more compliant saddle to extend the range of my comfort. Most of the rest of the dreamed about geegaws of a "new and improved" model are, for me, mere frivolities or distinct distractions for the safe and proper enjoyment of a motorcycle given my style of riding.
