transmission noise!!

Did the repair shop give you any kind of an estimate or is it one of those "we have to pull it apart to see what's wrong first deals"?

they are going to call me and let me know what to expect.
I am under no illusion as to the cost ... 20 hrs at $100 /hours plus parts we will see.

It would be tempting to either ask the dealer what he would give in trade in "as is" or just call the insurance company. "Sorry State Farm, I parked it right there. I don't how it fell over that cliff"

Unfortunatly the kit is not available in Canada any more according to my dealer. However they gave me a decent price on the 2 bearings, outer cover, gasket, lock nut & seal. About $270- can. It is a big job but can be done by lowering the engine at the backend. Some special castellated sockets are also required to unbolt the engine. It took me about 25 hours to do the job but that included making the sockets.

That is a large kick in the teeth....

yes!! I went to the dealership and talked about buying the 2014 on the floor and exchanging my green monster and added cash.
they would give me a beggar's loot for mine, basically I would fork over $16000. so I will keep my green tractor and since I am getting the upgraded kit(holy s..t it is 34 pages of parts and procedures..) I will have the bike fixed for good ( hopefully) probably 25 hrs of labor @$100 /hour ..swallow hard!!!
I am peeved at triumph for their lack of support. they marketed a bike with less than adequate mechanical strenght and provided a "kit" to fix major components that should have been a recall regardless of the manufactured date. my confidence in the brand is at the lowest possible mark, I am stuck with the bike, I will make the best of a bad situation but I will not in my puny way add to the bottom line of the greedy corporate office 'bonus plan by spending money on triumph. beside I am now a JD club member!

wow!! i respect that kind of work how about flying to calgary my cost and get extra cashola tax free room and board all the suds (full nelson) and grub we both can work on my R3 and fix it.
your dealer is full of granola ,,,,, I am getting the upgraded kit by month'end and I have a lift table in the garage
