Thanks for all the support, My bikes tear down was delayed by a week because there was another bike in front of mine.
Rick said the other bike was having the same problems as mine so he is hopping that having two bikes in there with tranny issues will help our cause.

Good luck Paul I think they (British usa) have done a few now, some more than once! Triumph even bought one Guys RocketIII Back(vinny). but a lot has changed at Triumph -Hard Times- anyway "good luck"

All I want is for them to take care of a known problem, not looking for a freebee. It would be different if I had a bike with 30000 miles and all kinds of Mod's but it has low miles an is stock. They should of (at least in my opinion) sent out a bulletin letting everyone know about the potential problem. I know they have to draw a line somewhere but it should be miles not years because you don’t know when the tranny will fail. It all depends on how it is driven.
My fiancé wants either an American or Thunderbird but If they aren’t going to help me out I'm not sure I'll get either one. She wants a Harley anyways.

I did do due deligence. I deligently worked my --off to earn enough to afford my dream bike. What gives Triumph the right to pick and choose when and where they they opt out of responsible business practices and to make that dream nightmarish.
That said I enjoy riding my RIII, but it is an annoyance and valid concern that a known fixable problem is allowed to fester.

popping out of gear issues-Triumph walking away from problem

Greetings all,

It's been a long, tough year following spinal fusion last June. Still having issues with an un-rideable bike..

Took the bike in to Manayunk Triumph last June following three visits to the dealer for the bike popping out of first gear during acceleration. Manayunk first pulled the clutch to satisfy Triumph's questions, but the problem remained and finally got Triumph office to authorize the Upgrade kit. Dropped the bike off 2 days before my back surgery.

Nine weeks later the bike was ready for pickup. Looks like the mechanic only replaced some of the upgrade kit...appears he didn't do any of the gas tank, ignition switch, and a bunch of smaller items in the kit. They charged me 1/2 of the labor and did only half a job.

My son is riding the bike home from the service and it starts doing the exact same thing as it was first taken in for....pops out of first as soon as any throttle is applied.

Called Manayunk and got no joy. Seems the head of the service department, Steve, cannot guarantee to fix the problem unless they replace the entire transmission and drivetrain. WTF, are you kidding me? Let's just throw parts at the problem and not stand behind your work.

Numerous phone calls to Peter and he's no help either. Triumph states that they have done all they are willing to do to address my problem.

Now, I have a bike that is almost 4 years old and only has 2000 miles on it because it is unrideable (won't stay in first gear....I'm going to report this to the NHTSA as a major safety issue for recall).

Now my question, does anyone know of a proficient Rocket mechanic in the PA/DE/NJ area? Per my lawyer, I need to get the bike repaired and then the cost of the repairs will be actionable to both Triumph and the dealer that did the service work.

As a side note, choose who you have working on your bike carefully. Appears there aren't many stand-up places anymore.

FYI, here's the mechanic's instructions from the work...you can see which items the Manayunk service staff chose to ignore (clutch pressure springs, harness update, lockset update, gas level sensor parts)....this also shows what is in the "Update Kit".

This really sucks! I have no first hand knowledge of your situation, BUT, from what you posted, the dealer really bent you over. How about a mass posting to their site?

Sorry to hear about the bad service. One thing I'm sure of, if my bike melts down it's going to Baxter's. Even if it is more than a thousand miles away.

I would call Baxters in Marne, Iowa (I think) and talk to Gus. He is by far the only Rocket expert I would trust with such a problem. You can ship it to him and back plus the repairs and bill triumph and the NJ dealership. You'll get your money back...sounds like your lawyer knows what hes talking about.........Good Luck!
