Paul, I agree with Idaho about silver coatings. I might have missed your answer so I'll ask again, is it possible to have the pipes triple chromed and heat coated internally?
Beautiful looking pipes BTW.
Thanks Gregger.
Yes the headers can be chrome plated. then the internal heat barrier coating is applied.
It would add about NZ$300.00 to the cost, I asked about this recently. The headers, after plating, need to be totally masked externally prior to the internal coating process or else the chrome will be damaged.
And just FYI, "Triple Chrome Plating" is nothing flash at all, this is simply "salesman" speak when some one is trying to sell something "WOW, this is "Triple" chrome plated"
The truth is, standard chrome plating (show) has firstly a copper coating, then Nickle, then chrome, hence the term "Triple" chrome plate.
Hard chrome, is basically the same thing, but does not have the copper plate as copper is soft.
Also Hard chrome is plated to a certain (as required) thickness, then the item is precision ground to a specific size, fork stauncheons for example.
