Actually - no. But I've an R3 mate not far away in Gumiel.

CanberraR3 - there are SUPPOSEDLY differences hidden under the foam. Much as you can't tell a Wayne Tripp Pipercross from a normal Pipercross from the outside. Also it has a lot more surface area (the top is filter too not rubber). And far more internal volume than 3 separate K&N's. But we'll only know when we see the real thing. Frankly I'll be a bit surprised if it looks EXACTLY like that.

I'm struggling a little to see how this design is likely to be appreciably better than the small triples. What are the benefits of this?

1> Internal volume and surface area much larger than 3 x K&N 2780.
2> Combined volume, each cylinder is feeding from the whole surface area.
3> The intake tubes have a radiused top edge in comparison to a square edge.
4> The IAT is placed in the intake air flow.
5> Likely to be cheaper.
6> Will be supplied as a kit. Main filter, crankcase filter, IAT extension lead, and fitting instructions.

Not sure on the surface area of the 4040's so cant compare but don't think they fit under an unmodified bearclaw and this filter design was intended for that.

Probably, although a tune that works with 2780's and 4040's is likely to be close. As far as I know Ramair will be working on this.

The concept is that it fit's under the claw - which 4040 will not.

If you REALLY WANT BIG FILTERS . these will fit the TB's Formula 3 RP-114 Race Pod Filter 65mm Neck - Ramair Filters - They are 2 foot long though. - They do shorter ones.

To work PROPERLY - you need a Dyno tune anyway. Or maybe a PCV or Dobeck. Even if the bike is standard (imo)

I will be providing feedback on trim differences using a PVC-A/T. I do not expect much. The 2780's sent the trim values haywire - some cells leaner some richer especially around the 2500rpm "slapping noise" region.

But I'll make it very clear - If I get the same SLAPPING noise as I do with 2780's It'll come straight off. My home made opened up plenum does not SLAP . it does however roar.

With the Pipercross filter, I don't get any slapping, chirping, or squeaking from the throttle bodies.

But I have gotten some slapping and screaming from the passenger seat.
