Torque loss-RU 2780's

To expand on the volume/surface area question, there is no doubt that the proposed Ramair filter will have more of both compared to the triple RU2780 setup. When I first showed Ramair my Solidworks model they immediately knew from experience that it would flow much better, that was why they were keen to help and put it into production.

So - the above filter was passed to me by Battersea on Sunday.
It's now here in Sunny Spain with me and WILL GET FITTED tomorrow. Today I simply have too much else on my plate - according to the missus.:inlove

I'll be doing a VERY SLOW & DOCUMENTED fit - as I want to supply the manufacturer with as many comparison pictures as possible K&N's vs RAMAIR vs TRIUMPH.
They've asked if there's more room to make it larger so this may well NOT be the final shape.

Then it will get a full 2 tank-fulls of running to see how the PCV likes things. ;)

I think that's way in the future Chris. They have already spent a fair bit of money on the tooling for this one, which is finished and ready for production.

As far as I know the next filter project is for the Carpenter type bikes with 200+ hp. The idea is for a much larger filter that wont fit under an unmodified bearclaw. Chris Yates and I were discussing this last week along with them looking to make a 'front air feed' bearclaw to complement it. This is likely to take up their time for quite a while.

I'd be interested, the 1770s I'm running now make your left leg stick out about an inch and a half.

Maybe Jim can do the R&D and we'll have one done sooner.

I'll upload the pictures to an album on this site. Test run postponed until tomorrow.

So I've had a mail from RAMAIR - They're waiting on some tooling to cut the foam - they have the AIT wiring extension leads and hope to go into production next week-ish

Bump, any updates??
I have the prototype on and am road testing. I have about 500kms done - hope to get that closer to 1000kms by weekend. So far the PC5 indicates improved airflow around 2500-3000rpm. And 1750-2000. But more km's means better numbers.

No SLAP - but they do whistle a fair bit.

I know the wiring extensions are done (I'd already made my own, but Colin has one), and we've been writing up install instructions and taking photos which were sent to RAMAIR.

If I get a chance - I'll call later in the week - Colin has other more important things on his mind right now. I guess they're also maybe waiting for feedback from Messrs Lush and Tripp.

Maybe UK guys with an interest could start calling. Overseas guys start mailing to ask about dates.
