Tire install at home?

I changed out the rear tire yesterday. I say yesterday because it took most of the day. What a biatch!!

JackG, how did you go about it? Did you have a tire changer stand, or what?
Blood and guts. Blood and guts. I cut the old tire off which is a beast because of the steel belts and used a tire tool and spoons to put the new tire on. My wife actually had to stand on the wheel before I finished to keep it flat. 100psi to get the tire to seat and then 40psi to hold.

I hope not to do this again any time soon. BIGGER.jpg

I did mine (R3T) last February using the tywraps, c clamps and spoons, you can remove both beads at the same time. I also removed the rotors and that made it easier!! Putting new tires back on was much easier! Use plenty of soapy water on and off, put it in a spray bottle. I also cut 3 inch by 6inch pieces of plastic from a 5 gallon bucket lid, to lever againsts.
It was one hell of a work out and a second person would have been a big help!! But I got her done. Good luck!
