Thick Fairing for R3T with radio for special project

OK heres the deal, I'm am planning on adding a fairing with a large display to my 2011 R3T and building a computer into the fairing. the problem is in order to do that I need a fairing with "depth". one that can have a radio head unit mounted in it and has an internal and external layer. The Corbin fleetliner fairing is a single layer so that is out. The idea is that I want all my tech for super long rides to carry with me and have several other options built into it as well and running off the computer (GPS tracker to auto web server update, etc). I know I can do all of this with different devices, but who the heck wants to trash up the looks of their rocket with a menagerie of devices hanging off the handle bars? the plan is have everything built into the fairing and when I get ready to go, remove the windshield, pop on the faring, plug it in and roll out.

So the question is, do any of you guys know of a decent fairing that can take a head unit and fits the R3T? preferably with the stock attachments?

Thanks, I've found a few, but figured the Captains' Club probably knows about the perfect solution it if it exists.
 
Welcome to the forum. I looked pretty seriously a couple of years ago and never found a fairing with all the goodies, or capable of holding all the goodies, that fit the rocket off the shelf. A couple of folks have cobbled together solutions, but nothing out of the box.

But my search is quite dated at this point. Do keep us posted. I suspect others will post, and hopefully have something more to contribute than just ramblings.
 
I know its a difficult thing to find. No one seems to want to make fairings for the R3T and if they do they want a couple grand for them.

Here is what Ive found so far.
Lets get the obligatory Corbin Fleetliner out of the way since it doesn't fit my requirements, but people will mention it anyway.

Any other suggestions would be nice, but the Quadzilla and the Tsukayu are just about what I need to accept a head unit and I should be able to access the cavity through the speaker holes and make it removable on the standard windsheild mounts.

What do you guys think? is this doable?
 
Find some posts from Lonzol and take a look at "Blackie" and "Blackie II". He was able to graft some old Harley FXRT fairings onto his Rockets. Looks great and may provide the space that you are looking for.

This one is so ugly he's actually crossed over into the territory I like to call "Wow! Now that's impressive!"




EDIT: The Tsukayu gets my personal vote. I'd probably have one of those on my bike had I seen them when I was in the process of tweaking my bike.
 
All killer options.

@Geek_Law - that is ugly....thats the last picture in the link for the guy with the Vetter. and the Tsukayu would get my vote too, but I'm concerned about the huge speakers. With the quadzilla I can remove the inner set and create mounts for other devices.

@tdragger - I saw that one before and it looks AWESOME, but thats a lot of customization and I don't know if it would fit on the touring model. Plus it looks like he's got the guages working, which would preclude removal.

@barbagris - That was one of the first one I saw in my search, but as far as I can tell they don't actually manufacture them for sale. at least I couldn't find anywhere with a price or ordering info.
