I don't know if you guys have different thermostats than the Canadian model, but mine has a 80 deg C thermostat in it. The manual and the box for the thermostat all say 80C. So that is 176F. If yours is opening over 200F i would say its pooched.
I know this is an old thread but it might wake some demons. I ordered a thermostat from Triumph of Austin and picked it up yesterday; have not installed it yet but the thermostat is made by Vernet; the line is Calorstat and the part number from Vernet is TH3328.88J. Here is a link: CALORSTAT by Vernet TH3328.88J - Thermostat, coolant
It seems to a common part but in many vehicles.
Also, More Information for MAHLE/CLEVITE TX11388D, there is one here from Mahle and the part number references back to the Suzuki ones, Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): 1760085821, 1767050G10, which are also found on the first link from Autodetalas.eu.
The one from Rockauto is about 15 bucks so worth a peek; also, the potential vehicle for cross reference is a 1990 Suzuki Swift with the 1.3 liter engine L4 DOHC.
