Swapped my GT to mid pegs and cannot shift to 5th or 6th gear. Measured 48.6mm between ball joints… I’m out of ideas….. help!?

A picture would help of the shift linkage. Did you use the shift link they gave you in the kit?

Mine is set at 49.27mm which is where its comfortable to shift for me.
This is what mine looks like. I also have a writeup on how to do the switch from forward to mid you can look over to double check your work.

Thank you… will find your write up. I am not near the bike now… at a friends house… but Shane I was shifting thru the gears the engine was off. I should be able to shift thru all 6 gears without the engine on or bike moving correct? I’ve tried lengthening and shortening the linkage and still can only shift thru 4 gears… pedal is just dead after that

Did you try it with the pegs/linkage in the original position? I've had bikes that wouldn't shift into high gears without the bike moving/running. You might ride it and try. If its all safe and put together.

Your focusing too much on measurements and not enough on the physical throw of the arm.

Without turning the bike on I can't even get it to shift out of neutral and stay there so try riding it to shift through the gears
