I've had both the 440's and 418's ... the 440's are nice looking, good ride and easy to adjust the preload since they are threaded. They are also pretty expensive.
The 418's are less money, have notched preload adjustment just like the stock shocks but have adjustable damping via a dial at the top. I returned the 440's in exchange for the 418's ... I found that the adjustable damping fit my needs better. It's too bad they've discontinued them and they are now difficult to find.
I have no experience with the 430's.
