Spray electrical contact cleaner on your fingers, it evaporates almost instantly, and completely, it's hexane Then spray some WD40 on your fingers, they are oily, and stay oily until you wash it off. WD40 does make an electrical contact cleaner, but that's a completely different product than regular WD40

My last post said exactly that.

I think you need to do a bling test between contact cleaner, lemon juice and WD40. See which one leaves you blind the longest

WD40 feels good in the eyes and just makes vision a little blurry
i will pass on the other two
iknow lemon juice smells good.
maybe wd40 then lemon juice then contact cleaner.

I would nearly garantee the start problem is not in the button - it would be in the relay for the statrer (RH side cover).
What hapends is over time the crappy thin terminals inside the relay mounting block weeken and loose grip therfore giving limited to no contact.
I suggest replacing ALL the terminals in the relay mounting block with better ones - do this one at a time so you get all terminals bach in the right place in the relay block.
