Starter Relay Mod on Youtube

it supplies a better power supply to the starter, you might say it gives it a boost

How so Hanso? this mod can surely only give an extra (parralel) lead to the starter solenoid which wont give anything extra to the starter motor, unless of course the problem is with the solenoid kicking out or the starter relay not passing sufficient current.

you are about right, except the way he is doing it is that it gives bat power through his extra relay just to energize the sol. i suppose if you had trouble with your fuse box this might help. other than that it doesn't look like it would be worth the trouble.
just my opinion. herman

I have not needed this mod, just saying what I read about somewhere here or over at .com:)

There is already a starter relay on the bike.

And the solenoid itself is actually a relay.

So what's the point in fitting an extra relay to trigger the starter relay which triggers the solenoid relay??

None of those supply ANY current to the starter itself.

Beyond me, I'm afraid.

How to Find a Parasitic Battery Drain: 9 Steps - wikiHow

I don't know about you guys but there is some kind of parastic drain going on in the Rocket. I don't know that much about electrical but something is draining the battery. I forgot to put the charger on the battery last week and she didn't have enough to turn it over. I found this article on battery drain maybe some of you can find the culprit. Benny i enjoyed watching your YT videos ,you have a good way about you mate;)

on my chev trucks it was the alternator . the way i found it was to take the bat cables of the bat and check with an ohm meter.
when i disconnected the alternator the meter read an open. you might try removing main fuse? let us know if you find the draw.

I thought the purpose of this extra relay was to take some load off of the ign. switch..but I don't know..the quote below is from honker's how to..

The problem is that it is being fed from the ignition switch. it needs a feed directly from the battery so it will always have a full 12v source when the starter button is pressed. The reason for the second relay is you dont want the starter relay "hot" constantly. The second relay will only send juice to it when the starter button is pressed.
