If your numbers are good and your right leg does not get fried I might even be interested. Do you know if he will be looking at doing hat shields? My not even need them tho. ..... answering my own questions now- what next. ......

for muffler i saw an interesting one recently at a BMW stand at a bike show single but with 3 outletsout the back kind of telling me buy me I am ready for your R3..

Similar to Les's the collector is being moved forward about 6 inch's up ontop of the crankcase with the pipes curling forward further up behind the radiator to maintain the right length for maximum torque. The S bend down to the muffler with the 02 sensor in it will be 2 1/4 inch. There will be an option to have it reduce down and match up to original exhausts. Trevor at Custom Exhaust Systems is making a jig and is going produce them for sale.
Having them so close to the radiator wont effect the running temp of the bike will it due to the extra radiating heat from the headers? From the pics I have seen of Les's they were already pretty close to the rad?
Cheers Pete

Is this your own design?
I'm going with a straight single muffler. It will be a fairly simple slip on. Trevor will build you pretty much what ever you want.

That's what I am thinking ,I will wait to see what Trevor and Dennis come up with ,I was thinking of trying to keep the stock headers as I like the 3 "plumbers Pipes" look ,that's how I pick the Rockets from the rest of the bikes coming toward me on the road , but do away with the cross over and the two pipes and just have a single muffler simular to a Triumph pea shooter but on steroids ,ie about 55mm or their about ,just an idea,

Don't know mabey when your not moving, air flow should keep heat away from the radiator when moving. front pipe is going to be about 1/4 inch from the mesh guard.

Thats what I have been running untill now, stock headers with a single custom pipe that still uses the standard Roadster heat sheild to cover all the ugly bits from the header back to the muffler. There is a photo of it somewhere in my photos. It and my PC5 with the tune to suit may be forsale after this little adventure. Single decel pop at 1800 RPM included.

There's a fuzzy pictue of it at the start of this thread.

Most people that don't own a Rocket and some that do think that it's original.

Yes Bruce, that is what I was thinking of ,I saw and heard a Rocket with a single muffler and stock headers at Willow Tree on the way to Tamworth a few weeks ago it had a nice note more like a 6 than a 3, looked neat what I could see ,I keep an eye on the developing thread. Cheers

Can set your watch to that single decal pop .. on time every time. Won't be right following you without that scaring the ***c out of you every time you throttle off...hahahaha

Hi is there any specific reason for the change from The header design Les had? Or is it the only way that it will fit the roadster?
Cheers Pete
