Sends up a rooster tail in the wet, but doesn't affect the rider.
You don't say where you're located. If you're in the UK, the legal requirement is for a 9" x 6" plate, and anything smaller is a prima facie offence, but mine is what I see as a 7" x 5" compromise. Illegal, but not ridiculously so.
I've never been stopped because of it (yet) but there again I tend not to stray into the Northern Welsh bandit country.
