Rocket Oval Mirrors by Triumph

I can't believe the difference. I didn't really like the looks of the stock, round mirrors so I broke down and bought the oval accessory mirrors offered by Triumph. Best safety investment I ever made. Riding on a 6 or 8 lane highway I can see every lane behind me, almost up to the tail light on my bike. These should be stock and the roundies should be junked. Of course the Brits have a funky mounting system so, do go against male genetics and read the instructions, especially for the left side mirror. It's good to know Lucas isn't dead yet.

you really need them with all the wild scooters flying around 8) Your right
about the left one . Mine vibrates a lot on heavy acceleration, don't really know what to do about it, but anyway they are really good.

There seems to be a bit of confusion in the UK accessory list on the Triumph website - I think they've labelled one of them incorrectly. I guess you've got the true oval shape and not the teardrop one (called "oval" in the UK listing.) Got a photo? Did you go for the drilled arms?

I just added the teardrops onto mine. Halleluiah, I can see! Most of my driving is in-town and those little round parts-bin mirrors wouldn't show me anything.

And they look good too!

Thanks ATM. You've got my bike (apart from the screen and sissy bar). I just traded in my fast black Rocket for an American imported Classic in that colour combination. Cool.

I did get the drilled arms, just for cosmetics. Mine are the "true ovals," not like ATM's teardrops, shown in his message. They look great too. I just preferred the conventional oval, being the old fart that I am.

I still can't believe the difference!

There is no thread size. The holes are smooth with a metal bushing-like insert. They are locked on by a large allen headed "screw" on the bottom that snugs up to a crush washer. What is strange, the right size just slides into the hole (bushing in place) and tightens up perfectly. The left side requires fooling with enclosed parts as the allen-head "screw" is too long to tighten the stem down, even with the supplied crush washer.

With all that said, I'm NOT giving them back. The rearward vision is super and the mirrors look good. In fact the chrome seems to be the best chrome on the entire bike.

Those new mirrors look good. The Round "Mickey Mouse" mirrors are close to useless. I swapped mine for a couple of teardrop mirrors off a Yamaha. The mirror parts just screwed off and on each bike. I have often wondered if he noticed any difference.
