Rocket in a van ?

Hope you'll have a few helpers Fred. Watched a guy chuck a 250 dirt bike in a van the other day. He just ran the front wheel into a corner and had 2 tie down points. it was a tight fit though and there's no way I'd try it with anything much heavier than that. I've seen a disc lock, by the way, that goes on the right grip and pulls the front brake on hard.

I can have my nephew help me, and the misses spot for us on this end. I'm sure I can probably bribe somebody at MV to give me a hand

I don't think I'll have to lock the brakes. It will be strapped from 4 directions, plus I can put it in gear.

Just be careful. There is no room to stand up in that van and probably not much room on either side for someone to hold it up. I have that van (E350) and I don't know if I would try and stuff my Rocket in there.

It's about the only choice I have. Neither of my cars has a hitch or can have more than a class 1 hitch installed. That's 1000 lbs. max, the bike weighs 800+ ready to ride. It's hard to find a 200 lb. trailer. If I go to the next size up U-Haul, the price goes way up and the gas mileage is even worse.

That should be the toung weight, not the actual weight you're pulling. You should be able to haul any motorcycle on a trailer with just about anything. You wouldn't have more rhan a couple hundred pounds at the tounge.

Naw man !!! I want to see him bring it in a van.

I guess I'm not sure how that works. The smallest trailer U-Haul has that I think I could get the Roc in, requires a 2" ball rated for 2000 lbs. If my class 1 hitch (which I don't currently have) is only rated for 1000 lbs. I don't see how that can work. I really don't want to put a hitch on my Dodge Magnum as this will be a one time only deal. My future plan is to buy a toy hauler which even the smallest ones require at least a class 2 hitch. At that time I will have to buy a heavier duty vehicle. The Dodge makes 340 h.p. but because it's a uni-body it can only get a class 1 hitch.

P.S. I guess a class 1 is good for 2000 lbs. (I thought only 1000).

After some more research I guess the car can pull 2000 lbs. with a max tongue weight of 200 lbs. On the Dodge sight, some people are pulling boats up to 4300 lbs. with them, but it's not recommended. I guess the problem is the area of the uni-body where the hitch bolts up, is part of the rear crumple zone. You can pull lots of weight as long as you don't hit anything with the car. I guess I don't really want a Rocket up my arse

Go to WHEELDOCK - The Official Site - wheeldock.com I think that with a piece plywood and this you will have no worries.
Have one in my garage that I just pull my bike in to and it stands straight up.
Got it so if I ever have to put mine on a trailer I can tie it down
