It's also possible that the wires are pulled out slightly--that was the problem on my Tiger.

It could also be that the cruise control needs to be reset: Engine rocker down to turn on ignition but don't start the engine, pull and relese front brake, press and release rear brake, pull and release clutch, roll throttle forward to the cruise deactivate position then release, press Set/Decel on the rocker and release, press Res/Accel on the rocker and release.

A little off topic, but in the same family. I find the Triumph dealer is not very knowledgeable about a lot of things. I asked the parts guy about a quick shifter kit for my Rocket 3GT. He quoted me on one item. I said, there are more parts needed. I was told no, this is all you need. Wrong. Lost a pannier and needed a replacement. Guy ordered it for me, waited a week for it, and then find out the locking barrel does not come with it, and was never told I needed to order that also. Say what you want about Harley's, but the parts people know what they're doing, and always make sure you have everything you need. I'd like two think that its just my dealership that sucks, that its not all of them

One more useful tip is when you want to cancel the cruise control. It’s easiest to roll forward on the throttle rather than tap your brakes. I find when I tap my front rear brakes that jerks me a bit, but I found when I roll forward on the throttle past neutral (very slight movement), it cancels the cruise and slows down more gradually which keeps me smooth in traffic.
