Hi all ... I don't see a tune for the Roadster running triple K&Ns on the TuneECU site. Anyone happen to have them?
I'm waiting to install them and am trying to decide if I should wait for my aftermarket pipes (unknown time-frame, so I don't want to) or put in the triple K&Ns now. The issue being engine tune ... thoughts?

Jared

Hi Jared,
Roadster material is scarce, and will probably be so for some time..
I have dynoed tune for the Roadster with 3xKN and TORS.
done with Tuneboy and I cannot seem to extract it with TuneECU. don't know why, I have extracted tunes before but this one seems to be of a new format.

otherwise you would have gotten it!

on the other side, adding 3xKN and doing a 12 minute tune will do pretty good.
with the ECU adapting and a fuel injection engine the system will benefit from being opened up.
I don't think that you will risk running too lean. I know several people that have 3xKN or even stackers and never bother to change map or do a dyno. they have decel pop and such but keep running the config year after year.

If you want a system that is optimized that's a whole different thing of course.

My advice would be to fit the KNs, do a 12-minute and if you change to TORS, change to 20355 tune, supplied by Triumph along with the exhausts.

this will be a good start and the tunes will be there sooner or later. on the other hand, if you can find a dyno guy nearby who is familiar with TuneECU, then you could go for it of course!

The triple K&Ns are now in place. Still trying to figure out how to gently modify the claw to still be in place for some upper weather protection, but be cut out below to promote air flow.
Not sure my metal cutting skills are up to par!
Nice to listen to that intake now .. and nice to have that under-seat space available for storage!

12 min tune and she seems fine!

On an interesting note, version 1.6.99b (used it to disable the O2 sensor) wasn't working right on my Roadster. Did the initial connect (showing serial #, etc) but wouldn't read the map.
Dropped down to 1.6.6, which I had used previously, and all was well.

good to hear!
if you want a partial bear claw, you can check with Nigel Rodger who does carbon fiber partial bear claws.
looks great on those bikes I have seen and I think it protects against weather as well, even though not being a full claw.

is the 1.6.6 still downloadable?
I would like to try that version on my Roadster.
if not downloadable, you can probably zip it an email it to me.

I will PM you.

Hi,

I really do not understand why the 1.6.6 is better than the 1.9.99b.
If there are problems with the 1.6.99b, then please contact Alain.

I trimmed mine to hide the overflow tank, keep my leg from hitting the filters, protect the filters from the weather and still get good air flow. The trimming wasn't very hard at all, made the rough cuts with the saws-all and finished it with a sanding drum. Didn't discolor or chip the chrome like I expected either. The metal was surprisingly soft and easy to shape.

can't read my tune with the 1.66 either.
Tom you know that I can read tunes, by definition.
it must be that the TB-tune my bike has now is in some ways copy protected, right?
