Riding style and gearbnox problems

Mine is pretty low mileage so far so i have a long way to go if it even makes it near your mileage. I never thrash it so it may last. As its been said many times before, we only hear about the blown up gearboxes on here.

This is true also

So true but a lot of folks on here have issues with the transmission. I truly thought i was good to go. I use my bike daily and do not abuse it. The bike is fantastic that is why am rebuilding it from the ground up. The bike is very simple and easy to work on.

Yes, i agree. I find i cannot give it up as i just love the bulk size of it as well as the power. I guess i am gonna find out if it,s a good gearbox in time to come.

When i said "Good Luck" that was not meant to be sarcastic. I really meant it in a positive sense. The day my transmission went south I nursed it home and called work with a beer in hand. Upset would be a understatement.
Thanks for that. No offence taken, i did,nt take it as sarcastic. If mine blows the financial hit would be annoying but it would be fixable as long as we can still get the parts as they have now discontinued the model. (which is another worry in the back of my mind now). I will continue to respect it and enjoy it. I hope you are lucky with your rebuilds as luck seems to be the word for these bikes!

I suspect my transmission failure may of been accelerated by clutchless upshifts that I am striving to train myself to get out of the habit of doing. Although one of my shift forks was worn, the root cause may of been rounded dogs. I've replaced items where cogs / dogs were worn and new bushes and it all feels much tighter on the shafts now. I had a right wobbly 4th output gear but new bush sorted that out. Mind you, transmission is still apart, I've only just placed the new items on the two shafts today, will put back in the cases tomorrow, so who knows, I've not tried riding it yet.
