Reband Pipes - LOUD

When Nev had it on the dyno you could see glass fibres coming out the exhaust. You'll find pretty much all the packing at the end of the muffler. I went for the reverse cone, looked same with fibres hanging out, thought Ric was going to put a bead of exhaust sealer round it.

Just spoke to Ric about this, He has agreed to send some more packing up to me and told me how to get into the packing to put more in..... I just got to lay off the loud till it gets here:rolleyes:

What sort of packing is he sending you? Im using ceramic fibre(rokwool) and it is ok in the Jards.

Ric is sending some woven glass wool, cos he says it doesnt blow out of the pipes as easy because it is woven together ... I intend on wrapping the first layer with woven around the inner pipe (Perforated) then use rockwool on the second layer and bind it all together with wire then wrap a top layer over the wire to prevent resination.. just a thought.

Mittzy my bike ran smoother than it's ever run leaving Freds. Think you'll need to look into the stepper motor if he reckons that's the problem .. he's pretty f#ckin cluey on Rockets. Ponters exhaust wasn't overly loud when I had his bike after RDU.

Yes thats what I said to Ric, Ponters pipes were really nice and not that load.
He seems to think that the packing has moved (The forces of Dynoing???)
Yes I will look into the stepper motor when Fred gets back.... I wonder if that would be a warranty job, cos it is still covered.....Only Just

Hi All,
Just got the R3R back from Procycle Dyno. 159.41 HP @5700RPM and 163.94 Nm Torque @4500RPM:p
Same Pipes as Ponters Headers
K&N Tripples under Bearclaw
Neville Lush Tune sent to Fred @ Procycle to fine tune.

Got the Pipes through Nev and the filters from another member here.

Man have those pipes got some growl:eek: But quiet enough to top gear doing 60 - 70 Kph.

Runs a bit rough down low and may even has a hicup rolling the throttle back on arround a corner at times:(.

Fred mentioned something about a idle step motor (or something).
Rides different - just got to get used to it.........

Leaving Procycle dyno I broke traction while moving with out effort, I suspect cos the torque rolls on @2700 rpm.

Couple of things to finish off.....
  1. Clean excess silicone off the flange.
  2. install carbon fibre heat shield
  3. modify cover to rear foot peg
  4. Ride the socks off it:D
Might investigate a baffle??? and would like it to run smoother. Thoughts anyone:confused:

Hi Pete, spoke to the bloke that made the pipes, he says he has been trying different packing and says he has it sorted now.

It's a pretty common problem , usually when you get up in the klms though. Should be covered by warranty I'd imagine.
