Whoa, and that little deflector really worked?! Wouldn't be so hard on the touring as the fender is plenty low and if it really works that would be very worth it.

Do you still remember the general idea of how you made it?

From the picture it looks like a couple metal banded pipe clamps on a section of corrugated hose attached to...maybe a vacuum cleaner pipe chopped into a sort of shovel/spade shape?

It was made out of a piece of rubber diaphragm material I got at work. It was approximatley 1/8" thick. I'm sure about any rubber that thick will work. Here is a really crappy picture I drew in "paint". It shows you what the basic outline looked like. When you bolt it to the fender it kinda "cups" all by it's self. Easy peezy :D

P.S. the metal banded thing is just the fender decoration piece. It has nothing to do with the flap. I held mine on with screws and nuts.

Living in the backwoods, i couldnt get my new backtire balanced. I researched the tire balance beads. I went with a liquid product. Rideon tps. Its a sealant that also balances. Claims to plug holes up to 1/4".

My tires are wearing perfectly and no slow leakage.

If you have a woody that will pop a tire you need a girlfriend who uses one of those diaphragms

Yesterday, about 6 miles from home, in front of a mulch yard front hit then rear hit and POP! Found a road to pull into! Checked it out and saw a piece of wood mulch split the tire about an inch or better! Wood is still in the tire! Had about 2000 miles left on it, just glad it didn't spill me!

PIX!!!
