Who has one..? What type/brand..? Where is it fitted..?
Looking at getting one, only 2 points left.. Pics of install location also please if possible..

Are they legal to use in Australia? I know a lot of places (here included) they are more than heavily frowned upon.

Actually found a site where they say the previous post was the worst of the lot. I don't have one mounted to my bike, but have a Passport 8500 in my truck that works well

Valentine One and Passport are considered the best and I've owned both. Currently have three Passports, one in each car and one on the bike. I use Ram Mounts (sorry no pictures), but since mine is an R3T its much easier to mount stuff behind the big windshield. I moved away from Valentine One when my BMW had an interference problem with the V1. At certain RPM's it would set the thing off. Never did figure it out. The V1's biggest advantage has always been the directional arrows but Passport just announced a new model with arrows as well. But at a offering price of $650 you really have to want the latest and greatest.

Mine have saved me countless tickets. You just have to be aware of the limitations. If you're the only vehicle on the road no detector made will beat instant on radar. With a stationary radar unit, as long as there is other traffic ahead of you being shot a good detector will alert you well in advance of your being exposed. Same is true of rolling radar that is on and monitoring all traffic.

Several years ago I was riding down a two lane highway in Utah on my GS. I was a probably a bit over 100 mph when I saw an SUV approaching in the distance. As he got closer I spotted the very low profile lights on the roof and at the same time my detector went off. I jumped on the brakes and his lights lit up. As he passed me he just wagged his finger at me and shut off his lights. Sometimes you need a little luck to go along with a good detector.

I have mine mounted on the Roadster fly screen:

The detector is an Escort 8500 that I bought several years ago with the returned bail money after getting my speeding ticket dismissed by the court :)

I mounted it with a steel "windshield bracket" that attaches to the fly screen with 3M VHB tape. The tape holds up well, but the mounting mechanism on the detector side seems to be getting loose after a few months of vibration, so I'd be also very interested to see alternative mounting options. I guess a handlebar mount such as the Ram Mount would be one option, but there's no room under the Roadster fly screen for one. Some kind of component setup might be ideal, where I could install separate radar sensors to the front and back of the bike, hide the head unit under the side panel, and just install one warning LED on the fly screen.
