R3R Gel Seat

It's a modified stock seat by the previous owner. It sits about 1-1.5" lower than stock. I need a seat that sits stock level to accommodate the shorter handlebars I have.
Jeez, they certainly carved that down - seems like there are a few 'ducks' stateside to take that off you!

Have to see what Hans said the postage was before any decision made - it does go well with my homemade riders backrest though as the OEM R3 Classic dual seat with OEM Riders backrest does reduce leg room for taller riders on Roadsters with the pegs much further back than the R3 Classic footboards or R3 Standards pegs.

I'll be trying my Corbin Fast Gun for a while to see if it suits me without a backrest.

I just put crazy short handlebars on mine and because of this seat, it's causing me to really stretch. need to fix this seat situation ASAP.

Let me know how that Fast Gun treats ya buddy!

I'll swap you seat for seat we just pay our own postage to each other. I have a standard Roadster seat to swap. And I can send to you , when you receive it you can send me you modified one so you can ride while waiting.

That would be great! I'll message you.

I have a gel seat and I don't find it getting hot.
Perhaps it's the Vynal or the leather getting hot.
Sit in a car on a hot day sitting out side with windows up with shorts on its hot.

Gel can indeed get VERY hot - Hot enough to actually cause radiation burn through Kevlar lined chinos.
But all it takes is something thrown over as per Arts post. I used to have a bit of chamois leather over the seat.

I have 1.5" of Gel in my saddle. 3/4" for passenger. I have the whole seat however now covered with a 3D mesh which

1) Keeps sun off
2) Generates air gap twixt bum and Gel

Can leave bike out in fierce Spanish summer sun with no issues - The Airgap has a second plus - bum stays dry in the wet.

That's like saying leather can indeed crack and peel. Yeah if you buy a cheap leather, I would think that would be the same with gel , a cheap gel pad or an expensive one. A gel for $30 is it the Same as one for $120?
