It wasn't the shop guy. It was Corporate Triumph. It makes since because that is how Kawasaki used the 1000 Ninja engine in the original Concours. Milder Cams were used along with smaller carbs to get more lower end torque.
Also, as far as specs go, how many years has Triumph said the USA had ABS on our R3T bikes? I think it started in 2012. We actually didn't get it until 2014. Milder Cams is a possibility of why Tripps had to do his magic on Tourers just to get them to match up with a stock R3R. Just a thought.
