R3 rear shocks - last question.. maybe..

I wonder if the Progressives 444-4233C are regular or heavy duty? or both? I need 215 lb. Just me mostly, rarely 2 up.
This could go on and on..

I went ahead and ordered the black ones for my Roadster...... **** you! lol

Progressives 444-4209B

Nice looking shocks as are the progressive's I have. Only like I stated there is no adjustable rebound dampening as with other brands like Hagon's and YSS shocks. Think of it like this, nice bike although you cannot tune it to run any better then what it came like. Nice Steak but you can only get it well done. Get the point!!!!!

I do not know if Progressive makes them to fit the Rocket but at least the 465 series has 5 position adjusable rebound dampening. Of course they are about $300.00+ more then the Hagons or the YSS shocks but they do look like a good set. you can even get them with remote mounting for the adjustable feature. Still you get much more adjustment out of the other brands. But hey dude if you really set on Progressive shocks maybe we could work out a deal I will sell you mine at a lower price of course and then I will buy a good set of YSS shocks to replace them. I prefer them over the hagons because of the adjustable height. 10 mm taller or shorter. Hell I will even throw in a stock pair of Triumph shocks you can use as paper weights :D

That's because they automatically adjusts as you ride.

"After more than a decade of ruling the roads with our road proven 440 Series shocks, We’ve unveiled another breakthrough design. Dubbed Frequency Sensing Technology (FST) for its unique ability to dynamically adjust damping as you ride. The result is superior performance no matter the road conditions. A top mount threaded preload adjuster allows for fine tuning with a simple twist of the cap. "

Yep and every motorcyle made on the planets advertised HP is actually what it is. :D

Not to worry Mully you have them and like them thats all that matters. I have all three I listed and prefer the adjustable ones. Its like the car tire thing run what you like as long as you keep the rubber side down :D

I can't help but wonder if they were so good why did progressive recently design the 465 shocks which are adjustable?

I've searched high and low and I don't see where the Progressive 465 will even fit a Roadster or R3 bike.

All I see is that shock is for a mono shock applications.

Maybe I'm missing something but I really can't consider these shocks if they won't fit my bike. lol
Your right Mully according to their listing they do not make it for the Rocket.
After looking I would day the 970 series is possible although they do not list them for the Rocket, but since the make them for the dyna and the sportster I cannot say one of the sized would not fit. SO I would still say you would have to comtact them. Personally since you like the auto rebound adjusting shocks like the 440 I would just stick with them. Myself since I have owned them and the Hagons along with the YSS In fact have the YSS on the Falcon right now and the 4040's on Gracie I will still order new shocks for Gracie as I like the adjustablle rebound dampening over the 440 which are not listed for the Rocket either they are listed for the Harley but just happen to fit the Rocket. Hmmm a bike known to vibrated and rattle (they say the ladies like that) using shocks the automatically adjust the reboound dampening again on a bike that vibrates) Not sur ewhat it is auto adjusting but like I said I have all three and prefere the others over the Progressive shocks. don't sweat it its just what I prefere. I am sure everyone else buy the progressives. Oh I also prefer a Motorcycle tire over a car tire. Anyway its not worth argueing over I will see you in Magiie Valley and I owe you a cold one :D
We can aggree on that can't we :)

Oh I wasnt disagreeing with you ..... I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something. I had already placed my order and still had time to cancel or change it. Gosh man.... I couldn't afford to pay anymore than what I paid for the 444s tell you the truth. There's no shame in my game.

I'm switching back over to the motorcycle tire soon. I really believe I will have it mounted come RRA this time. I had a BMW M3 (car) get on my ass in the twisties the other day up in the mountains. I couldn't shake him so I moved over and let him proceed in front of me. After that I couldn't stay with him! He left me sitting.... way up around the next curve he went. I said "I'm on a motorcycle and a car is faster than I am around these curvy mountain roads?" Anyways I was amazed. So I decided that I was going to put a MC tire back on ..... now I went ahead and ordered better shocks. Maybe I will handle a little bit better..... doubt I would out run that BMW however. I've got the stock shocks set on "3". I was wondering if that was to stiff for racing a BMW or should it been on "5"......... lol

I got a Metz for the rear..... I've had it for sometime just never have got around to putting it on.

I am a recovering alcoholic but I will take you up on a MT Dew if you got one! :D
