Question for you experienced Triumph owners

In the USA it is illegal for manufactures to void the warranty because you changed your own oil and filter and used different oils and filters. All you have to do is document your services each time you do them. Show date, miles, services performed and parts used. The Castrol 4T Full Synthetic 10W/50 is the recommended oil and is a good oil to use. The Purolator L14612 is a great filter to use. Be sure to change the final drive hub gear lube too.

Love that red rocket. Love Idaho for that matter. Hwy 55 north out of Boise, hook onto 95 than 12 into Missoula. I've gotta get my bike out there. That's on my bucket list.

Call Triumph. I have called them a couple times over the years and found that they are very open to folks doing their own maintenance. But for peace of mind on a new bike I would call them.

I've always had services done by authorised Dealers when my bikes are under warranty. BMW , HD and Triumphs. Truth is my RIII has given me more grief than any other bike I've owned. Had I not had "history" of Dealers serving I very much doubt the numerous warranty claims Triumph have honoured (one a $5,000+ claim outside of warranty period) would have happened. Money well spent in my book. As far as winging about having to travel 200miles to a Dealer .. I just don't get that. Ride further than that on a Sunday ride.

I would most certainly get the 500 done at a TRIUMPH dealer. And try to use franchised dealers during warranty. Thus the mfr has no way out.
Though here as long as ANY certified mechanic does the work the mfr cannot invalidate warranty and MUST supply them with manuals.
After that - I either go to a mate's genuine certified workshop (because they have a 1 tonne lift) or do it at home. Depends on time and patience.
