Quality Oil really does make a difference

Yes I remember Nev talking about it and how he was seeing less scoring on wrist pins and wrist pin holes on the pistons. Also after talking to Mega Cycle cams it was one of the oils they talked highly about it along with the Red Line. I started with the Red Line because I could actually buy it off the shelf in my area and at the time I needed a oil change before I went on a trip. Theirs smells kind off sweet like the Motul does.
When the experts recommend something that they learn from years of experience building race and street engines and they also have no business affiliation with the recommended company, it is worth listening. But as I said earlier, this oil works for me and I'll stick with it, if someone is happy with something else, well so be it.

I couldn't get Mobil in my area when I first got the Rocket ('05) ... been using Nulon 10 /40 full synthetic all its life. This has included some very fast (and hot) Central Australian crossings. Still shifts smooth and idles quietly. Generally change oil every 5000k but have stretched to 9000k when travelling every day .... last lap of Aus was 30 days so changed in Perth before the run across the Bight. I have recurrent nightmares about blown gearboxes but so far so good :ninja:

I do hear 5000km oil changes are highly recommended. I know oil isn't cheap, but it is cheaper than a damaged transmission. Was gonna say a blown tranny, but knew it would bring out the 'what the' and other comments from our old and bolds

Well, I just did the change to the Motul about an hour ago and DAMMMMMMMMM!!!!

This is how a transmission should feel! OP was 100% correct! The dam gearbox is smoother by about 10 fold! It's not ducati smooth but its certainly smoother than its ever been and finding neutral has gone from feeling like a 15 year old and finding the right hole, to being Ron Jeremy in his prime!

Not only that but the bike is purring so dam nicely now and my mirrors are slightly less vibey!

Thank you all for leading me to this oil. I am very happy with the change it has made on my bike!
