Power-Tripp Performance

P..T..p: I stopped in one day and you were out to lunch:D Really, your brother said you'd be back in 20. I'm down the road 10 miles; I'll stop back. You really do need a sign out front!

What TTS base tune was he running? (Scott will probably have to answer). The latest TTS base tune; "Rocket 3 SC disconnectedmapsensorbestmap.dat", goes WAY rich at WOT.

I've never been able to figure out why Richard decided to disconnect the MAP sensor and stepper motor, especially since it's so simple to keep them. I've been running a 2 bar sensor since day one with the SC. I even posted a "how to" here on installing a JayCar DFA to convert the MAP voltage for the stock ECU. Guess it's one of those "not invented at TTS" issues.

Good on you for helping Scott to avoid future problems (ceramics and knock system).

Walt I am slow but I finally seen this post I was running a modified tune in which I was informed that the upper end was very rich. Wayne was right about the back fire which I have never experienced before or after the supercharger in fact after I installed the SC I never even had that cough the stock set up used to give me once and a while. I am still thinking I might of got into some bad gas maybe the tiger in the tank was past its nine life’s the gas station had a water problem. Either way I am back to step one in which I will reinstall Richards base tune unless I get a copy of the predator tune he used on Paul's bike for a base tune (I have a set of predators on order from Sam). Richard sent it to me but there is a problem with the tune boy recognizing the tune. Richard has contacted Wayne at tune boy to sort it out. As we discussed earlier I will be switching to the 2 bar system till Wayne gets the 2 bar ecu up. The set of pistons Wayne was talking about is my extra ones I peeled out of the 07 motor I bought to get her up for summer riding. Wayne if I had known you wanted the head gasket I would have sent it with the two damaged cylinders. Then I will be sending a bucket load of cash to Art and Carpenter racing for forged supercharger pistons, a head job including O-ringing the head, a set of custom cams designed for forced air as I am told they deal with a lot of turbo applications.

As for the head it seems to be in good shape a little wet on # 3 cylinder which the worse of the two pistons was in.

#2 was dry but the piston was going on it also.
all valves’ look good and clean know signs of burning pitting or anything that I can tell in fact I do not know if the head gasket went when she popped or when I was limping her home as not much oil was contaminated at all even the scavenger pump had clean oil in it. I cut the filter open and it was clean also.
Amazingly the inside of the motor was cleaner then the 07 I bought with fewer than 12k on it.
I do not know what oil the owner ran or if he changed it I can tell that someone had the valve cover off perhaps to do the 10k service check on valve clearances.

All in all it is a learning lesson for me a slight costly one but as I said the motor broke not my spirit I am curious if I was running out of fuel at WOT due to the stock pump as we discussed. And I will eliminate that problem before I run her again. I know I do run her at WOT alot and maybe it was at its limit and ok for WOT once in a while and I stretched it to many times to often.

Another positive note is how much you, Wayne, Art, and Kevin from Mtc are helping me work through this. I can not tell you how much I appreciate this vas quantity of knowledge!

As I stated on the R3P site I hope someday my bike will grow up to be like yours.
I would love to run at maxton but I also know how much that will cost to get her ready something like that so until then well you are the One Fast Hombre and I need a push:D

when I am at home I run shell but if there is not one around I run any repitable premium. I also run a addative that Wayne gave me (he calls it engine crack) in fact Wayne ended up adding some during the Dyno run I do not know if it make a difference good or bad I have had a couple different opinions?

tripp performance tunes

Wayne Tripp can do it all. He tune my Rocket and my friends rocket last week. The guy has the tools and the knowhow. I am very impressed with him and his work. I feel previllged to have an expert in my area and I recommend him to all.
