I have a 2008 R3 Standard, Claw removed triple K&Ns, Jardine ex, and tuneboy. my problem is there are no shops close who know how to adjust tuneboy. the map that's installed was back in 2009, I have been dynode 2x First time in 2010 results were 145 Hp. and 149 Tq. just had it done again down at Gettyburg Bike Week. exact same numbers. both dyno operators told me I am rich! over entire rpm range. So my question is can I install a power commander 3 or 5 and lean out the mixture? there is a HD Shop only 30 minutes away that has a dyno and understands the power commander. or if there is another fuel management device. thanks for the input!:D

yeah you can fit the PCV plus add a Auto Tune to it and put my AFR table map in it that will clean it up if you want to go down that road make sure you order for 09 or they will try and sell you a PCIII because the PCV was not released till 09 but the injection on 08 and before is exactly the same as 09, if you want my map PM me your e-mail
Cheers
Hans

Hmm... Get it dyno'd properly:rolleyes:
I'd rather run it rich..
Just Saying
His problem is he has not got a Dyno operator who knows TuneBoy but maybe he just need to take a trip down to Wayne Tripp or get the local guys to tune with a PCV but for the cost of a Dyno he could put that into a Auto Tune as well, I have the same problem here the Dyno operators (closest is in Canberra) know Power Commander because it is easy to use Tune Boy comes from Sydney and I gave up trying to contact them after months of trying, as they don't seem to like answering calls or returning them either so I went down the PCV route, but once I have save up the funds I will be making a trip to SA to get it tuned properly after a internal massage:)

Carpenter Racing just south of Philly (across the river in NJ) tunes with TuneBoy.

JD Hord (Hord Power) in Bucyrus, OH tunes with TuneBoy and TuneECU.

You need to get a good map in your bike using TuneECU or TuneBoy before you tune with a Power Commander as a PC5/PC3 only allow adjustment of fuel, not ignition, rev/speed limits, speedo, etc.

I hope this helps,

-Wayne

thanks for all the advice guys, the tuning of my tuneboy at a dyno shop would be best! carpenter and the ohio shop are both about 5 hours away. anyone know if either place would tune my bike on a Saturday? I'm self employed and Saturday is the only day I could get there. :)

question answered finally

That answers my question that I had in an earlier thread. I wish now that I had gone with either TuneECU or TuneBoy because of the limitations of the PCV. It really irritates me that PCV doesn't address ignition maps.
Thanks Wayne
