R3Cruiser brought up a question about replacement tires for the Rocket, and I was just kind of curious about what kind of mileage people are getting from the stock rear Metzler.

Rear Tire Only

When I voted it was for the rear tire. The front one has over 7,000 and still going strong. Now watch, I've just jinxed myself by saying that.

How long has someone made it before changing the front tire?

Went 5000 on first rear, got 7000 out of second. 9000 on first front, tried a dunlop on the front, have 5000 on it now and is just about done, chopping out pretty bad. Will definatley go back to a metz.

This is one poll I can't participate in. Not enough miles and not planning on getting many more for the next few months, but I BETTER get at least 10K on my 880 as gingerly as I ride. The Battalax's on my T100 still look new at 8K and that's with the sidecar attached.

I have always heard that Metzler's were a better tire than the Battalax's so, I guess we shall see. A better tire is a long lasting tire to me. I always shoot for at least 80K on my car tires and 50K on my pickup.

I have 8500 or so on it to date and plan to make 10,000 on this pluged tire. I ride progressively when able, and more so since learning to hang on.:D We have good roads around here that are good to tires it seems. No burnouts but lost traction once taking off,and boy that was fun.;)

13000kms

I got 13000 kilometres translating to 8125 miles out of my original rear tire. Unfortunately in Finland we now have about 6 inches of snow :( so my riding for this year is done with. Shes tucked in to my garage under blankets, waiting spring sun to shine.
